"When I have needed Video Conferencing bridging between ISDN and IP, and international room hire for a Court video link, we regularly use Patem.
They have always provided us with excellent service and support even when links are required at very short notice.
Their rates always seem to be very competitive. I would thoroughly recommend Patem."

Why do we need to book a bridging service for the court video link?
The court systems operate on ISDN. Many video conference systems operate on IP and the two technologies are not able to connect directly. Our service enables a connection from any video device through to the ISDN systems.
The witness or expert does not have any video conferencing equipment. What are the options?
We have access to thousands of video conference rooms worldwide where the person can attend and give evidence. The rooms are available to book by the hour and we will manage the connection so all the witness or expert needs to do is attend the site. Alternatively, we can provide a secure connection from their laptop, tablet or smartphone so that they can join via video link from the convenience of their home or office. The service is very easy to use, and we will carry out a test call to ensure all parties can see and hear clearly.
Where in the world can a video link take place from?
Our service can connect to any location worldwide, either by IP or ISDN. If the witness or expert does not have video conferencing equipment then we can connect them on video from their laptop, tablet or smartphone.
The court system is connected to the internal Vodafone network. How do you connect to this?
We will contact the court to check which court room has been allocated for the hearing, and then send the appropriate forms to Vodafone. They will then supply us with an ISDN number to dial which enables us to connect the external site to the court.
Is the service secure?
Yes absolutely. We understand that a secure connection is crucial when conducting a video link to court. We take extensive measures to ensure this, by means of encrypted connections, unique meeting ID's which only the witness or expert has access to, and the use of bridges housed in secure data centres.
Do you run a test before the hearing?
Yes, we recommend a test takes places before the hearing, and a member of our bridging team will arrange a mutually convenient time between the witness and the court staff. The testing is free of charge.
Do you charge by the hour?
We offer an hourly rate and a daily rate. We understand through experience that court hearings can often be shorter or longer than scheduled, and therefore we only charge for the time used on the video link, rather than the time booked.
